Kuramae Indonesia proudly hosted a successful and impactful gathering and luncheon today at the Sampoerna University Hall (Student Union Hall, Ground Floor), warmly welcoming Dr. Naoto Ohtake, President and CEO of the Institute of Science Tokyo.

Held from 12:00 to 15:00, the event served as a vibrant platform to strengthen academic partnerships, promote cutting-edge research in advanced technologies, and foster entrepreneurial mindsets among future leaders and innovators.

The program began promptly at 11:45 with a seamless registration as guests arrived and settled in. At 12:00, the formal session commenced with a series of inspiring remarks from distinguished speakers. Dr. Surya D. Liman, Provost of Sampoerna University, delivered the opening welcome address, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for the day. He highlighted the upcoming "Building Entrepreneurial Mindset for Sustainable Technology and Society (BESTS)" student exchange program—a groundbreaking and ongoing initiative jointly organized by Sampoerna University (Jakarta, Indonesia) and the Institute of Science Tokyo (Japan). This program aims to equip students with critical knowledge and hands-on experience to develop entrepreneurial solutions for circular cities, aligning closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It was announced that a delegation of students from Science Tokyo will visit Sampoerna University for a 16-day exchange program from August 24 to September 10, focusing on entrepreneurship under the guidance of Eri Ota-sensei. Following Dr. Liman’s remarks, Dr. Naoto Ohtake delivered a compelling keynote speech emphasizing the essential role of international academic collaboration in solving global challenges. The session continued with insightful remarks from Dr. Fauzan Adziman, Director General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, who outlined the Indonesian government's strong commitment to advancing research in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and other emerging technologies. The final guest speech came from Dr. Sri Angky Soekanto, Ph.D., PBO, former Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Indonesia and former President of the South East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE), who emphasized the wide-reaching societal and interdisciplinary benefits of international academic partnerships.

From 12:20 to 14:40, attendees enjoyed a delightful buffet lunch in a relaxed setting that encouraged informal discussions and meaningful networking. During this time, President Ohtake provided an in-depth overview of the Institute of Science Tokyo, enhancing participants' understanding of its academic vision and research excellence. A special “self-introduction one by one” session allowed each attendee to briefly share their background, fostering a sense of community and paving the way for future collaborations.

The event concluded at 14:40 with warm closing remarks from Prof. Panut Mulyono, President of Kuramae Indonesia, who expressed sincere appreciation for the enthusiastic participation and the fruitful outcomes of the day. The gathering closed with a commemorative group photo between 14:45 and 15:00, symbolizing the shared vision and strengthened ties among Kuramae Indonesia, Sampoerna University, and the Institute of Science Tokyo.
